Other programmes and projects of Hari Om Seva Trust
Apart from providing service to patients coming to the two hospitals, we also run the following programmes
Knee & Hip Replacement Surgeries
Gujarat govt. had introduced benefits of Rs. 40,000 to patients needing hip/knee replacements, if they are MAA Card holders. However, in 2019, Govt. of Gujarat changed the policy and decided to pay the full amount spent on the operations. But this did not apply to patients coming from outside Gujarat. Hari Om Seva Trust helped such patients as well as those who did not have the MAA card from Gujarat, and the expenses incurred were Rs. 14.55L in the current fiscal year.
Total 52 patients were sponsored by the trust out of which 24 patients had hip operations and 7 patients had knee replacements done We are grateful to the Orthopedic team of doctors of SSG who are assisting in every way to bring needy patients to our doorstep. The success ratio in these operations too have been instrumental in spreading the news word by mouth and bringing patients from remote areas in and around Vadodara and other States.
Help Extended to Patients from Private Hospitals
We have introduced a new avenue of helping sick and needy patients outside of the above govt hospitals. Now, needy patients who have taken costly treatments in private hospitals and have run out of their money can come to us for help to settle their bills. After ascertaining the genuineness of the claims and the concerned hospitals, the trust extends help to them to lift them from their misery and despair.
Hospital Laboratory Diagnostics Facilities
We have assisted the hospital to upgrade their diagnostics facilities from time to time by providing them the required equipment. Total expenditure incurred in 2019-20 has been Rs. 36.83L at SSG and Gotri hospitals. Demand of diagnosis through MRI/CT SCANS, USG, DOPPLER TEST, etc though has increased in both Gotri and SSG Hospitals as the patients are unable to pay for these expensive tests even at Govt. sponsored testing location within SSG. Expenses on MRI/CT SCANS have been 24.19L in the current fiscal year.
Diabetes Clinic at Kevadia Colony
Dr. Ashok Gohil runs a diabetic clinic for the needy at Kevadia Colony which has a predominantly tribal population. The trust contributes to Dr. Ashok Gohil’s efforts every year through a financial contribution.
Eye Camp at Jhagadia
The trust has been organising an eye camp with the help of Divya Jyoti Trust, Mandvi, Surat and Rural Trust Jhagadia in the past years.
Educational Assistance
Every year the trust assists children from various schools in Vadodara through reimbursement of the school fees.
Entertainment Programme
The trust organises entertainment programmes followed by dinner for the differently abled children from time to time.
